Women's Ministry Teams at Providence Baptist
Ladies Bible Study - Thursday morning 9:30-11:00 in fellowship Hall
Providence Baptist maintains a high view of Scripture, meaning that we believe it is the inspired, authoritative word of God. We conduct our study with that in mind, careful to use inductive reasoning and incorporating proper observation, interpretation and application methods. Our study is most often a book of the Bible but we include a topical study occasionally.
Discipleship Ministry - The Discipleship Ministry is informal or structured depending on need. As women seek friendships and seek to build each other up in the faith, needs vary from "how to live biblically" to "how to study and be equipped to teach others”. We provide aid to those who want to be discipled as well as those who would like to teach/train others.
Titus 2:2 gives us the scope of our discipleship ministry:
"Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.”
The Ladies Prayer Group prays for all the women listed in the Providence Directory on a rotating basis. We meet quarterly at 7:00 P.M. on a Tuesday night to pray corporately for our church and each other and to receive a new list of names to pray for. We have space for a couple more members who have a heart for prayer.
Encouragement Team - The purpose statement for the Encouragement Team is: “Being eyes and ears of tangible ways to meet specific needs of PBC women to encourage and build them up in the faith.” We meet several times a year to share our thoughts on ways of being intentional in encouraging our sisters-in-Christ. This often involves our pens, our presence and our prayers. We welcome any PBC women who would like to join us!
Women’s Quarterly Fellowship - This ministry gathers together each quarter for fellowship, encouragement, and to have fun teaching and learning the principles of being a godly woman.
Celebration of Life Ministry - The Celebration of Life Ministries celebrates the birth of each child the Lord brings to our congregation. We provide gift ideas to the church body that can be used in honoring these families and their precious babies.
Women’s Book Club - The Monthly Saturday Ladies' Book Discussion meets the third Saturday of each month at the church with fellowship from 9:00-9:30am and discussion from 9:30-11:00am.
