New Elder!

We are pleased to introduce, Michael Hutchison our newest elder to the community. Mike was confirmed by our congregation this past Sunday. If you haven't gotten to know him yet, make sure you do. Below is a brief biography. Thanks for serving us, brother!

Mike Hutchison, Elder

Mike grew up in a really small town (Pratt, 660 people) in rural West Virginia and came to faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 8 through the ministry of the small Baptist church in town. His mother, sister, and father came to Christ all within the same year. Mike grew spiritually through his pre-teen and teen years under the influence of his godly parents and pastors of the small church where he was saved. His wife Vickie moved to the same small town during her teen years and they were married within a month after Mike graduated from college with a B. S. in chemical engineering. Mike worked for 40 years in the chemical industry in process design and research before retiring in 2008. He and Vickie celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2019 and have two daughters and three grandchildren. Over the 64 years since his salvation, Mike has been privileged to serve the Body of Christ through teaching and as deacon and elder. His grandchildren have recently moved to Huntsville, so Mike and Vickie will be able to enjoy them as they grow. He also enjoys music (especially choral and a cappella), acoustics, home electronics, and sharing science with his grandson.
