The Sex Talk (Again)…

Once again, this upcoming Sunday I will be addressing the issue of sex (Hebrews 13:4). And inevitably the subject of whether or not it is appropriate for children to be present in the worship service will arise. I even once heard a ministry leader use such situations to advocate for regular separate worship services for children. This way the adults can hear about sex without the kids being present! So, what about it? Should I skip church this Sunday and keep my kids at home?

Several years ago, I wrote a blog about this topic in which I stress the need for having  regular communication with your children about sex. Providence Baptist Church: Huntsville, AL > The Sex Talk. I also share a really wonderful resource in that blog to guide your discussions. Either we disciple our children regarding sex, or the world will be happy to do so. You have my word that I will handle this topic with the utmost care. I will preach this text as though my children were still at a young age. But I know some people’s consciences (and perhaps a traumatic circumstance) may keep you from bringing your children. I do understand. But I hope to see you and your kids this Sunday. And I pray for you to find healing in the Word of God will abound within you. You have my love prayers!
