An Update on our COVID-19 Protocols

Greetings Brothers and Sisters,

It has been our joy to regather in corporate worship even if all have not been able to participate. With the recent spike in our state and county of coronavirus positive tests, we wanted to update you about what we are doing. Let me remind you that there is no fool proof way to prevent the spread of the virus in any public setting. But we are doing everything we can to minimize that possibility in the church.

At this point, we have decided not to discontinue our public worship services. We know that other churches have chosen to do so for various reasons. But as for now, we are still able to follow the state and county guidelines provided that our members and visitors obey our COVID-19 Protocols.

We still are asking that you enter through a single door and exit through a single door. We are asking you to allow our ushers to seat you six feet apart from other families. (Please note that this does not work as well, if you do not tell the ushers that you have more family members joining you and will be arriving later). Again this is so much easier when you arrive for worship early. We are also doing our best to encourage social distance fellowship outside the building. And we are still maintaining our sanitizing practices making sure the worship center is cleaned after use.

We have not required masks. However, with the new county mandate, we would like to encourage you to wear a mask both as you enter and exit the building and while enjoying fellowship outside. This would be a good witness to our neighbors who might feel comfortable enough to join us.

Our elders are closely monitoring our community situation each week. If we think it is necessary to return to a livestream only service for the purpose of keeping you safe and not overtaxing our community resources, then we will contact you via email or facebook.

Of course, we will continue to livestream our worship services for the duration of the pandemic. If you are at risk or feel unsafe, by all means, please continue to join us via the web. But I will remind you, our livestream service is only a temporary measure for a most unusual time. Once, we can gather safely again we will be discontinuing that option. We want to be obedient to Hebrews 10:24-25 (ESV) And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.’ That cannot happen consistently through the internet.

Last, but not least, let me communicate about future events. As you know our Lord’s Supper outdoor service scheduled for last Sunday night was cancelled due to inclement weather. At this point, late afternoon showers appear to be the consistent pattern for the upcoming week. We will let you know when we can reschedule the service as soon as possible.

Our new education building is almost ready!!! We are planning (if the Lord wills) to have Sunday School for children and adults in August. But there are still challenges we are working through- one of which is we need two children’s teachers for the upcoming year. If you are interested in serving, please contact Ric Crooks. You must be a church member to fill this position.

If we can answer any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. We love you and we are praying for you and your family’s health often.

Humbly His,

Pastor Blair
